All,
I found something strange today. I received a BSOD when I went into the bios and changed the drive configuration from AHCI to ATA. I have an SSD installed. I tried several times and repeated the blue screen. Then I switched back to ahci. I went out and installed the latest matrix/chipset driver for mobile gs45 chipset from intel. Booted again in ATA and still no go.
The reason I started down this path was because I was playing blu-ray with the asus slim bdrom and powerdvd9 and it would stutter about every 5 minutes or so. (I dont have any dell backup software or anything like that enabled).
I thought it might help to switch the bios to ata mode instead of ahci.
any thoughts on this? anyone else boot into ata instead of ahci get the same error?
Thanks,
StevenX

have you tried other BD player software intead of powerdvd?

If I remember correctly, I believe you have to set some specific registry settings in Windows in order to switch between ACHI and ATA..
