    Hi Guys,
first off I know there have been other posts about this topic but none seemed to help me rectify my problem!

I'm trying to connect my m11x to a flatscreen via a HDMI cable but it just refuses to work.
I've read through other posts telling me to switch to performance mode/ external graphics mode but I have no idea how?
I'm not even sure my laptop has nVidia? any clues on how to get my HDMI output working?

    Thanks in advance,

I'm using it right now, HDMI to 42" plasma.

Just plug the HDMI cable into your M11x and TV. Switch your TV to the HDMI input.

If you don't see anything, right-click on your desktop and go to screen resolution. It should show both displays (#1 lappy screen #2 TV) then simply set #2 as your "primary" and select it to only display on #2.

Neither works I tried both! The flatscreen is on the right input but it just remains blank! Do i need to change my graphics card settings or something?

Is it detected? As mentioned by Rishwin, if you open the Screen res page you can alter settings but only if it shows an external screen avail. Ditto for seeing any output - needs detected.

Push fn +f6 to run on the gpu (if you have a r1 model, first generation, kinda glossy finish, has a vga port on the side)

Yes I am trying to connect via HDMI however in the screen resolution window the only other option is VGA in the dropdown? this is why I'm confused it seems like my graphics card doesnt support output through HDMI? I don't have a nVidia graphics card? could that be the problem? if so any solutions other than buying a nVidia graphics card for performance mode?

In the off chance you have some hardware issue, launch nvidia control panel. If no card, the panel will not work.

Device manager will usually show any hardware gone goofy.

Still not clear what model you have. R2?

Test with diff laptop or PC using the SAME cable to SAME screen

    You have an R1.

Are you certain Fn+F6 doesn't work?

Did you try opening the Nvidia control Panel as someone suggested?

Have you checked Device Manager as someone suggested?

It should be in your system tray, just double-click on it... The GPU is soldered onto your motherboard, so there's no issue of you "not having it". It is there, now it just depends if you've uninstalled the drivers & software for it.

Check your list of installed programs, the Nvidia drivers should be clearly listed there.

Open up device manager, what is under "display adapters"?

Only one thing under display adapters
" Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family"

And there's no Nvidia drivers listed on your programs list? This would be alot easier if you actually reported back what you've tried, rather than simply responding to 1 specific inquiry and making us repeatedly repeat the rest. We can't troubleshoot if you're not telling us what is or is not working.

Here are the latest drivers anyway - NVIDIA DRIVERS 296.10 WHQL

Fixed! Thank you so much man!
the reason fn+f6 wasnt working was because it could not increase performance with my dell Databackup application still running so I had to taskbar and close that then it worked
thank you so much for your time and advice!
sorry I made this more difficult than it had to be!

yay! FYI: For R1 those are not the right drivers though if wanting to retain fN+f6
