    Hello,
First of all let me apologize for my weak English and then apologize if I pass on one of the rules of the forum at the opening of this and in the end let me apology for my lack understanding of computers.

Now, when we finished with apologies, let me ask my question:

    My computer's specifications:
    m11x r2
    gt 335
    i7
    8GB

in Computer's display settings I can choose just the PC MOBILE DISPLAY option and from what I understand it should not be like that, but i should see the option to choose my graphics card, I updated also my video card still does not appear to me no other option.

I only have one other possibility is: AVAILABLE OUTPUT ON: NVIDIA GERFORCE GT 335.
I also can not select a refresh rate of more than 60 HZ. Is this situation correctly and I just gripe or there is a problem somewhere in the laptop?

If its helps: I can play FIFA 11 on the highest settings but there are some stucks int the game and the graphic is not the best.
I have another small question: If I connect the laptop to the HDMI connection to TV, the quality of games will remain the same?
Last Request: Please Do not turn me to other pages and let me answer here, because I Asseatabach there without understanding what I should do.
    Thanks to all helpers.

    The 335m is only 60hz.

    What driver are you using?

^ correction, the screen has a max refresh rate of 60hz, so even if your 335m is drawing 100 fps you can only get 60 fps max. The only way around it is to get an external monitor with 120hz refresh rate or more.

The display settings allow you to choose you monitor (if you have your laptop connected to another monitor you will have an option to use the laptop screen or the monitor screen).

Since you have the R2, it will switch gpus automatically. To get it to use the 335m for a game, whitelist the game.

If you connect your laptop to an external monitor or tv, it will depend what resolution you play on how good you can set your graphics. If you up your res to 1920x1080 for example, thats about 2x as much pixels you have to draw so theoretically you will only get about half the frame rates with the same settings.

The driver I use is 260.99.
I did not understand, I should have no other option other than PC MOBILE DISPLAY? Should not appear there say GEFORCE 335M for example?
And if I understand correctly - to get the optimal view - I have to buy a screen that supports 120 HZ?

No. You are confusing the GPUs (video card) and the display (monitor).

    1) Your laptop has two GPU's (graphical processing units) - the Intel HD Graphics GPU, and the nVidia 335M GPU. Your laptop automatically switches between these two. When you are just in Windows, your laptop uses the Intel HD Graphics to save battery power. When you play a game, your laptop automatically switches to the nVidia 335M GPU for gaming power. The technology that does the automatic switching is called nVidia Optimus.

    2) Your laptop has one DISPLAY attached to it - "PC Mobile Display". You can attach other displays by plugging in additional monitors through HDMI or Display Port. If you do not have any other displays attached to your computer, then the only option you should see is "PC Mobile Display."

    3) No, you do not need to buy a screen that supports 120Hz for the best display quality. 120Hz is only useful if you are going to be using nVidia 3D Vision glasses. And nVidia 3D Vision glasses will not work on an Alienware M11x - so 120Hz is not very useful to you.

I don't recommend a screen for gaming. I recommend you use the screen that came with youjr laptop. There really isn't a reason to buy a separate monitor for gaming.

Agreed, the m11x would be hard pressed to game at a higher resolution without compromising graphics quality. Also there are very few new games that the m11x can run above 60 fps so there's also no point in getting a 120hz monitor.

You can play on another screen, but most externals are 1080p, and the m11x's 335m will be hard pushed to run anything at high settings :(

Any recent TV with a HDMI input will work.

Theres really no point in playing on an external monitor beacuse you'll either sacrifice quality or performance or resolution. The only reason you might wanna do that is because of physical size difference, the 11'' screen is kinda tiny for gaming especially if your used to using a desktop. As long as you get a hi-def tv with hdmi ports you'll be ok, thats probably the easiest way to hook up your laptop

I would like to add that apart from the newer games, you will be able to play games on an external monitor at 1920x1080 with decent FPS. So if you don't like your 11 inch screen by all means buy a monitor and plug it in via HDMI. However, you may need to lower the resolution if you plan to play new games, which will look bad on a large monitor.
