this apply across to all R1 and R2 users. But it's individual preference at the end of day.

To squeeze a little more fps out of your M11x if you are playing games directly off the screen of the machine. Its worth to use 1280x720 over the native res. The screen is small thus using native or 720 wont make too much of a different to our eyes. But you gain a few more fps. Try doing that with your games and share your thoughts. I know there are some typical gamers out there who will insist on going native with reasons like sharper image and etcs. I do agree on that point but its quite irrelevant if its on a small screen. This tip is helpful if you have a game that struggle quite a bit even when you are already in low settings. It help you squeeze a little more fps while maintaining HD quality gaming. I hope this is useful for some here. Happy gaming :)

I assume it scales itself to fit the screen?

Because that's not an awful idea.

I do that on my desktop with certain games.

yes it will scale to fit. anyway althou m11x native res is 1366x768. Its design for 720p. One thing to remember too. Those HD Ready LCV TVs out there. Their native res is 1366x768 too. While they are 720p panels. Since there is no display panel that is made native with 720p out there.

You can always go into your nvidia graphic properties and Adjust Desktop Size and Postion. Then choose Nvidia Scaling.. games will then stretch to whatever you choose.

Personally I think there is a small difference between native rez and 720p. Not a lot, but a bit. But.. that is just my .02

just to clarify for the scaling that steven mention is meant for R1 users. As R2 such control will fall under Intel (this is how optimus works).

To Steven, there is definitely difference. 720p = need to slightly upscale a little to fix onto screen while native = pixel to pixel. But its really negliable at least imo given that the screen size of m11x. its hard to tell compared to on a big screen. Also if people can live with playing games in all low details with game settings I dont see they should complain this small little difference. :) I just felt that every small little thing helps if you agree with me on this. ;)

@Kopicha - I will agree with you that everything helps... Especially where processor is in high demand and low supply (for us R1 guys...)

+1 Rep for keeping the alien abductees informed.

I do this sometimes....but personally I prefer it not to scale it. I let it letterbox the 720P image. I'm not satisfied with the stretching that it does.

Although, BFBC2 will NOT letterbox it....no matter what I do/what resolution I use, any ideas? I've got it set for "no scaling" in the Nvidia control panel. R1, BTW.

Another gaming tip is to just turn off High quality shadows, or turn off shadows alltogether, in games like Borderlands it makes a big difference in FPSes.
