    Hey Guys,

Ive been a browser of these forums for quite sometime. I finally registered and have some questions. Ive been waiting for a good deal on the M11x and saw one today. I didn't pull the trigger because im thinking a refresh is coming soon. I went to the site today and the only option is for the Core i5. Does anyone know if the i7 will be back? Is this a sign of a refresh coming soon? One of the reasons i have waited so long is because i really want a USB 3.0 option. I travel alot and like to carry an ext hdd and 3.0 would be a big benefit for me.

Oh...i see. You have to select the middle option. The alienware website is really misleading. They must be trying to sell all the i5's they have left over.

Left over? They're going to have the R2 well into next year...

The chance of a refresh coming before spring is extremely slim.

I think they will announce a refresh at CES to say that they will hop on the sandy bridge bandwagon. I agree that we won't be able to buy it until spring, though.

I hope so. Something can be out for a month or 6, But every time I buy something off of them they refresh it as soon as my return policy is up.

With computer it is not a wait wait game, if you want tech then you should buy it when you can afford it rather than wait and then a new product is out because there will always be another one better at the horizon.

Sandy Bridge itself is being introduced @ CES. I'll be suprised if the R3 comes out anytime before E3 2011.

Last I checked, there weren't any ultra-low voltage processors slated for Q1 on the Sandy Bridge roadmaps that have been floating around the internet. The earliest release I've seen for them is Q2. Then again, Sandy Bridge processors may be efficient enough that the standard mobile processors will have similar battery life to our core i5/i7...
