So I have had my M11x for about a month now and I have been noticing some problems. First of all, the screen sometimes needs to be pushed by in otherwise it will make little crackling noises every now and again. Another big problem is that the bottom left side of the machine doesn't stay on the table by a fraction of an inch. It also scratches very easily on the back.

Are any of these issues unusual?

If your M11x is lopsided, I'd get it replaced.

Your screen only makes the noise when moving? Unless the hinge is really loose, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you want to protect the back cover from scratches, I suggest getting a vinyl protector cover from a site such as invisibledefenders.

It just has a slight gap on the front left side. Would that be worth getting it replaced?

The invisible defenders look good. I think I will order one of those

I ordered a set from invisible defenders, really like the lid skin. I had a very difficult time with the display one (lining up the camera and the Alienware light) and the palm rest looked great, but something about the feel of the vinyl I didn't like, especially on the track pad. If I decide to order another one I'll save the extra $10. and just go with the lid skin.

I won't say the trackpad feels bad, but I do agree the normal honeycombed feel is 10x better. It doesn't lose sensitivity at least. You could also just not skin w/e as well. I personally just kept it on for looks.

I do agree it took some effort aligning the LCD bezel but reapplying was easy so long as you didn't set the vinyl sticker in.
