Sorry to make yet another post about the M11x battery but as I came across my issue and I found this glorious place my questions haven't quite yet been answered.

I received my brand new Alienware M11xR3 just 10 days ago and all was working well until 2 days ago it didn't turn on after a good charge, so I thought it was my plug, it wasn't it hadn't charged. I found this out when I plugged it in and booted it up and got a message where the system does not recognize the battery and continued on to Windows only to see that it says plugged in and not charging. Now I called Alienware and they are sending me a new replacement battery.

Here are my questions: Will this really fix the issue? How come my battery already "failed" within 10 days? Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening again?

    Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a faulty battery from the factory.

Others who had this issue who have replaced their battery through warranty were successful in getting it to work, so no worries ;)

Some people on the Dell forums (a necro thread I looked up) suggested updating BIOS when their Inspirons had the same issue.
