Alienware m11x r2 (i7 - 8gb) upgraded from (i5 - 4gb)
the i7 Mobo i have never seen operate as it was installed originally to overcome this 8 beep problem but it still shows.
i have an 8 code error on boot, after the alienware logo screen comes up,i understand that this shows as an lcd issue but if that was the case would it still show the alienware logo, it started doing this fault code off and on for a while but now it wont boot at all.
i have plugged into an external moniter as advised but still 8 beeps from the unit and no display (after the alienware logo)
was this issue perhaps caused from upgrading from the original 4 to 8 gb of ram and not upgrading bios??
After looking through forums ect i replaced the MoBo to an i7 (an upgrade i wanted anyways) with a new Nvidia GT355M, but still wont boot
i have disconnected the hdd and tried to boot from an external hdd ( usb ) but still wont boot.
i have double checked all connections and tried to boot using an external mouse and external keyboard, just incase it was a hardware issue,i havent tried a new internal lcd but i am reluctant to shell more money out on it if is going to display same code, and because it shows the alienware logo the lcd seems fine as there is an output.
really stuck with this now so any help would be greatly appreciated
regards

If you are located in the U.S send me a PM and I'll give you some options that DELL can provide. It seems to me that the motherboard or the LCD might have died. A faulty video card can also make 8 beeps (the video card is embedded on the motherboard on this laptop)
