Hi guys, last month, my warranty ended and now, I'm getting lockups if I just LEAVE my computer for like 2 minutes. And now I don't think it's random. Any advice?

Do you get them in Safe mode?

If you do not then it is probably something simple like a driver issue, if you do it could be a bit more complicated.

Try running it in safe mode for a little while and see what happens, if there are no freezes and it works fine then boot to safe mode with networking and see if it does fine there.

Let us know, if it is software we can find it.

I tried Safe Mode 2 times, same thing happens, unistalled most drivers (especially GPU drivers) and the same thing happens after just leaving the computer for 10 minutes. Don't worry about software, I can find that by myself.

Does the R1 have the free fall sensor? I can't remember.

I unfortunately was getting lockups from the freefall sensor when the laptop wasnt even being TOUCHED.

Disabled it, and all was well.

I have had random lockups that happen once a month on average its very strange there no rhyme or reason to it and no its not bad RAM I think there has to be something with glitchy hardware or drivers for their hardware on the R1s

After 1 month with nothing happens, I thought the random lockup issue has gone. But sadly, It comes up today when I'm downloading on torrent and loading a youtube clip at the same time.

I wonder if upgrading bios can solve this problem. Mine is still on A03, the newest is A04

Forget to tell, mine is R2. I've already seen a topic about lockup on R3 too.

How did you know it solve the problem? If it's random, you have to wait at least 1 month to know, right?

I work on computers for a living and this is finally something that makes sense so I don't know for sure but I am pretty certain this is it.
