Hello everyone. I have just purchased a second hand m11xr1 and am attempting to transfer the warranty to my name. Now, I have seen the trick about putting "No information" in to certain fields that are required such as company name and zip code and that worked and I moved on to the next stage, my information, I thought I was home and dry however I received an email saying that the transfer was denied due to "the original owner information provided is not matching with our records".

The problem is I dont think I have any of the original owner information. I have contacted the person I bought it off to no reply as of yet and I am not even sure if it is under his name as he bought it from an eBay shop. I have also contacted said shop with no reply as of yet.

Does anyone know of how I can get around this, it has over 2 years warranty and I'll be proper pee'd off if I can get it under my name. seems a bit silly seeing as I now own it.

    Many thanks in advance, Tom.

On another note, the first and last name field are not required (no red asterix) where as the company name is? This does this for both previous owner and new owner.

Anyone care to shed some light on this?

something fishy. if I were selling a system with THAT much warranty to still have 2 years it would be priced accordingly. This means the guy you got it from would have been very interested in making sure a transfer could take place.

I suspect he was unable and offloaded it.

Any actual proof of remaining warranty? I assume you are checking by ID# online.

No, there's nothing fishy. It definitely has the warranty as I can see via the service tag the issue was/is that he hadn't changed the owner details in to his name. I managed to find the eBay shop he purchased from and messaged them and they got back to me with all the details. I. Now have two set of details that are the only two owners so I should be in the clear, just awaiting a confirmation email.

    Tom.
