    Hello!

    I have an m11x with core 2 duo, 4gb Ram, 250GB DD

Im planning to change for m11xR2 with i7, 4gb Ram and 320GB DD

I use it to program :GEEK: and to play games like SC2 or cod mw2

cons or pros for m11xR2 or stay with my m11x?

It is truth that m11xR2 with i7 has less battery?

and also it does not increase much in videogames, but that games like SC2 work best with i7 than core 2 duo?

Sell your R1 and get an m15x or m17x. Both systems will run SC2 at less than optimal rates.

Stay with the R1, the R2 is not much faster and has much less battery life.

    It's not worth an upgrade.

Are you comparing the C2D 7300 with the Core i7 models? If not I would say from the tests I read that the Core i7 R2 model is noticeably faster than the base level R1 (initial release- I don't know which the OP has). Plus the battery life isn't really that much worse in the Core i models- a marginal difference and in no way a "con" against the core "i"s. Both models will drain their batteries pretty fast while in NVidia mode.

While I agree it's probably not worth it to upgrade (I'd wait to see what comes in the R3 model), your post makes it as if the R2 is a step backward

I'm confused, if you have the money for an m11x R2, how do you not have enough for an m15x or m17x? Particularly if you sell your R1? Consider looking at the Dell Outlet and using their 20% off coupons and all that jazz - I was able to get the m17x in my signature for 1100 shipped.
