what kind of discounts have people been getting on the canadian m11x??

I just did the live chat thing with the agent. and price was $1349 before tax. and the agent would only give me $1299 price. (50dollars off). I asked for an academic discount and he said there wasn't any.

In Canada it's best to wait for when Dell has a sale (every couple of week or so) and get the EPP discount.

What did you configure for 1349? That's a lot of cash for this system...

This is what I paid for my Canadian R2 which arrived yesterday. Same configuration as what you're describing. I managed to get 100 dollars off and a 2% discount. That's about it. I have an American R2 being shipped to the border soon which cost $470.00 dollars less for the same configuration. Once that arrives I'm sending back my Canadian R2 :)

Canadians get ripped on Dell laptops.

Don't expect many sale prices on the M11x in Canada. And if it does, its usually a price error or a mistake lol. Perhaps sign up for their newsletter, hope for a roll on a good % coupon(they have coupons every once in a while, 15% to 75% off selected items that are 15%-75% marked up).

I paid taxe and shipping 1488$ in Montreal at dell,ca for i7, 4GB and BT. Initially ordered on the 8th of june for edd of the 8th of July to have my order cancelled for the most dubious reason. Reinstated tru the crazies in Casablanca on the 10th for a 12th of July EDD. Fist and last time I ever deal woth Dell. Stear clear people, this company is really a rip off for anybody with a schedule that goes 2 days out.

The problem is that you will have to pay for customs charge and tax. In the end, I doubt you will save much, if not end up paying more due to customs inspection charge.

Thats exactly why I didn't buy mine from the US. I bought something on Ebay for 529 and it came out to 800 Dollars after customs, needless to say I'm never buying any electronics from the US again unless it's under $50.
