WOW!!! So Alienware are the MOST expensive laptops Dell sells and still no TPM? They say 'it is a business feature - not for gaming'??? Where is the logic there??

"Gaming" Laptops are synonymous with "EVERYTHING LATEST AND GREATEST AND EVERY SINGLE FEATURE OFFERED ON THE MARKET AT THE TIME" ... at least for me. Hence, a gaming laptop would have EVERYTHING that a business/enterprise laptop has, PLUS the bleeding-edge gaming features.

Disappointing. Now a USB Key for Bitlocker is the only option.

(No, TrueCrypt, VeraCrypt, DiskCryptor, etc. etc. are neither better nor more secure than BitLocker, and are probably NSA Trojans. And I am def not moving to Linux.).

Sometime I wish Alienware remained a separate company, like MainGear, OriginPC, FalconNorthwest, DigitalStorm, etc. and was not swallowed by a huge conglomerate who is just going to make it 'one of the guys' in their lineups.

Come over to the Clevo side lol

My laptop has a TPM and a fingerprint reader but it's a "gaming" laptop.

I think the users that would use a TPM are already a minority in an already niche market so it doesn't help the case.

TPM is essential for anyone who wants privacy from the snooping eyes of pretty much anyone (not just governments). It's not all fun and games out there.

My next laptop will have TPM and still be a gaming laptop. Maybe Clevo is the way :)
