Ok Hi nice to meet all of you. My flame suit is on because i am sure this has been said somewhere before. Sorry i didn't search a ton. i've look around the internet and can't find an account of someone having this issue.

So i just picked up my M11x R1 and love it ASIDE from the fan. its crazy loud. and before i opened it up and cleaned it out the fan was pretty much on 100% most of the time. now that i cleaned it the system will passively cool itself a lot however when the the fan starts going its only for a split second. like WUB WUB....WUB WUB WUB WUB...WUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUB WUB WUB then it'll stop and passively cool again.

I have Real Temp and OCCT installed and idle around 38-45 and have a fan cooler underneath it and have opened it up and pulled the fan off to clean it. but its still loud.

    Opinions?

When idle my fan switches switches between on and off for intervals of 3-5 minutes; without the cooling pad I suspect your R1 will run just like mine.

This is what mine is doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSyHFx2OGXI and when it stays on its typically wide open throttle speeds and stays that was for about 3-5 minutes then turns off after the temps have gone back down to around 35. but there are times where it will go up to almost 60 and then fan will either not spin fast or it will just do what it did in that video. like right now its doing that and only at 43 BUZZ....BUZZBUZZ...buzzbuzz

I wasn't able to watch your video because it's been marked as 'private'. My fan always spins at around 90% whenever I reach temps of 60+, perhaps it's a problem with your GPU drivers. I've noticed that changing drivers can cause the fan to behave differently.

Sorry about that i changed the privacy thing on it. However i opened the machine up again and pulled the fan out....well i can't even spin the fan by hand it just stops instantly...From the way it looks it seems like i have a bad fan..

Whats your opinion now that you can see the video

It definitely sounds like there is a problem with the fan, I can help you get the right fan if you'd like. Send us an email at [email protected] with your service tag and phone number. I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

I watched the video and your fan definitely isn't normal. It's as if it wants to spin but can't, does it appear to be jammed by something? You should get it replaced as quickly as possble.
