Hi, my M11x is about 6 months old and when i start it up there is a short message saying that my battery is not recognised, so won't charge. Press F1 to continue or F5 to run Diagnostics. I did this and everything came up as passed but it still won't charge.

I ran the battery charging on/off program and turned off charging then turned it back on but still nothing. Any ideas? and would i be covered under the warranty? I have 2 years next day service.

Any help would be great, thanks

My battery went bad on my R1, wouldn't last longer than 15-20 minutes. They eventually replaced it, but part of the troubleshooting was to disconnect the battery then hold the power button down for 30 seconds, then reconnect it and reboot. The tech rep said this would fix if the computer wasn't recognizing the battery. Wasn't quite the problem I was having, but it may help you.

Unfortunately they only warrant the battery for 1 year, regardless of your extended warranty. If you're nice and aren't too long past 1 year on it they may replace it for free. I was 30 days past my 1 year anniversary and they replaced mine under warranty.

Thanks for the advice, i took the back off and pushed the connections to make sure it was all connected, put the back on again and it was fine. Not sure if its normal but that fixed it with no further problems.

    Thanks again
