    Hello everyone

Midway through fixing hinge on my M11x R1 (dell will not replace, as dont have past owners name or info to transfer warranty)

Wondering if anyone knows what the hinge nut sizes are? One of them was incredibly tight and want to avoid forcing more with vice grips in case it needs minor adjustment again.

    Any help would be awesome.

    Thanks

Contact the Dell reps on this forum and they could probably sort out a hinge replacement for you as long as it hasn't had one yet. Even without having previous owners details they are still meant to fix the hinge, you buying it from someone else doesn't remove THEIR design flaw.

Got any links to an official statement on that? I think ownership has always been a sticky issue. I do second contacting the reps for options or details on reasons.

Yes you have to have ownership of the laptop, but my point was that Dell should be allowing ownership transfers even without you knowing the previous owners info - it says that on their ownership transfer page, it gives you the option there if you don't know who you bought it from. and the Dell reps on this forum can help you do the ownership transfer too, for the most part Dell reps at call centers are as useful as a bag of coal and will deny you all sorts of things which you are in fact entitled to (ie. replacement nameplates, rubber feet, peeling paint ect).
