Does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether or not the battery on the m11x shuts off when it's plugged in and at 100? I know there's a method of turning it off in the BIOS, but that's a pain, and I don't like using the BIOS that often.

I've had laptops in the past that I left plugged in most the time and the battery would degenerate to five minutes at full charge within a couple of years. I'm convinced it's an important feature. So, does anyone know for sure whether or not the m11x keeps cycling through the battery at 100%?

Modern notebook batteries degrade over time, whether they are used or not. That's why you shouldn't buy "replacement" batteries in advance - by the time you want to use it, it will be nearly as bad as your original.

True, but it's generally known it degrades much faster with each charging cycle. I want my battery to at least last a few years into college.

I've used the BIOS. I was just hoping it automatically stops charging when it hits 100%. I'm guessing no one really knows?

On another note, anyone know how to order a replacement battery? I assume Dell sells them, but they don't appear on the site....
