    I have an Alienware m11x R1.

The fan has recently become extremely noisy after a Dell technician recently repaired it.

When ever the fan spins it sounds like its hitting something.

Also if you push down on the gloss strip below the screen the fan noise becomes even worse.

I remember this being a common issue with some systems. Is there a fix I can do without having to send this machine to dell?

Someone recently mentioned that tape is being used in two places around the fan assembly in order to seal the cooling path. My guess is that the blades are hitting tape that wasn't properly placed when it was serviced. Having never seen this myself I'm not sure how to better describe what to look for.

probably the tape as slickie said.

if you can try opening it and spin it and see if it hits anything remotely close
