Hi, I have unboxed my M11x today. All I did was turn it on WITHOUT the charger, and went the main home screen after setup. I thought I was done, so I did face reconization instead of a password, I thought it was neat. After I did the face, I pressed the blue right button, and it froze. Completely frozen. I tried to turn it off and restart, it turned off. I tried to turn it on, but it stayed at a black screen and made lots of beeping noises non stop. I have to shut it off for it to stop. Can anyone PLEASE help me?

First of all, you're in the dell forum, not the alienware forum, and also, when you boot up alienware laptops without them being plugged in, it gives you two beeps to tell you you're not plugged in and says "Press F1 ( i think) to continue without AC Adapter," this will happen every time you boot up your laptop without the charger unless you change it in the BIOS settings. Hope you enjoy your laptop.

for future questions please go to the Alienware forums, not the dell ones. http://www.forum.notebookreview.com/alienware

    Give this a shot:

Remove the bottom access plate. Unplug the battery. Carefully turn the notebook back over and hold the power button down for 60 seconds and then let go. Turn it back over, plug the battery back in. Turn it back over, plug in the AC adapter and then turn it on. See if that allows you to boot cleanly. If so, turn it off, unplug the AC adapter and put the access plate back on.

look in the user manual it has step by step instructions on how to take it apart, otherwise the fan unit cannot be unscrewed from the bottom. so just take all the screws out on the bottom

Ok, I had this problem from Alienware straight from unboxing, its a long story. Anyways, I need a choice: to have a new one shipped, or buy a completely different computer. Can someone help me with this?

    Depends on your situation:

are you willing to wait for shipping, assembly, etc, again?

do you want another computer, instead?

I am willing to wait for a awesome computer.

I returned it, but heres the problem:"Hi, I have unboxed my M11x today. All I did was turn it on WITHOUT the charger, and went the main home screen after setup. I thought I was done, so I did face reconization instead of a password, I thought it was neat. After I did the face, I pressed the blue right button, and it froze. Completely frozen. That was from a previous help thread, but I sent it in because none of the methods (1) worked...

Your posts have been merged. No need for a new thread.

Call alienware support. I suggest this since your earlier posts seem to suggest you have little hardware experience. Since you have warranty coverage, let alienware address the issues you are having.
