Recently aquired an M11x R3 and it's absolutely blown me away, really impressed with every aspect of this little monster. It's a sturdy little thing, built like a tank and features a whole host of luxurious features I could could crow about for hours... I even like the screen!

Anyway, I have bumped into a problem with it, however.
I can't connect to an open public network without being informed of a limited connection, and this is every time, no matter where or which connection I choose. So no net access in other words!
Also, my own internet connection is quite sluggish now after a driver update for my Killer wireless network card and upon checking the connection status I notice that Ipv6 connectivity reads: 'no internet access'.

I uninstalled the default driver before updating and that's when the problems first became apparent. Wouldn't even connect at all and the wireless signal was very weak. I've rolled back the entire system a few times since then, out of exasperation more than anything, and now I have internet access again but the Ipv6 problem remains and the whole thing in general is just a bit slow.

It's not the end of the world as I'm not really that badly affected by it but it's quite annoying nonetheless, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what the problem might be?

I've a belkin router from years and years ago and the public places I've been trying to connect to also have ancient hardware no doubt so I've put it down to the Alienware just being too ahead of the game and not so backward compatible with the older tech...

I'm fairly computer literate but this has left me completely stumped, any help or suggestions will be more than welcome, cheers!

Hey there, thanks for the quick response! Your instructions are very clear and would appear to be a very simple process to follow apart from one thing...

I hate to sound a bit dense but are you referring to the intel drivers in that list or to something else? Thanks again, I feel like I'm close to finally getting somewhere with this problem!

Bigfoot should use an atheros wireless card so you should be able to use atheros drivers.

To further clarify if your using the bigfoot 1102 you would need the ar9382 drivers. Not sure about the 1103. Here is the direct link to the atheros page the drivers your looking for are on the bottom just use the windows 7 link.

Hmm, so the Wireless nic stopped working alltogether with limited connectivity to any network it was assigned to, and I've had to roll back Windows to an earlier date with an earlier driver. Itunes has become useless again. Anyone else with an r3 having trouble with Bigfoot drivers?

I'm at a complete loss and wholly unimpressed with what is touted as being a 'performance' part for this computer, it really is no better than any intel card I've ever used and the driver software is significantly worse!

Im having some issues now with my bigfoot :(

I reinstalled windows this morning, installed the bigfoot driver. that all works, I have internet working. But when I do the "speed test" thats required it tells me that I need java and flash, both are installed and working just fine, but not in the bigfoot screen.

    Steam also wont connect :(

Starting to regret my reformat, oh well, I guess I will just have to push through it and figure this out.

EDIT: Finally got steam working, I installed the atheros drivers too just to see if that was the problem, twas not.... so now I just need to figure out why bigfoot doesnt see java or flash.
