The r3 is a tank, someone knocked mine off a table, 4ft right to floor. Landed on the spine. I was so pissed at first but upon inspection there is nothing wrong. No scratches, dent, marks anywhere. No lose parts and everything is just as tight as before. What a great machine!

I've dropped my R2, and I was horrified because I thought I'd destroyed the thing for sure. Just like you said, I inspected everything and not a scratch. This is a very sturdy laptop, for sure.

Dropped my M11xR1 twice now... Doh!

Both times from approx 3 feet onto carpet.

Hit a pot planet on one trip to the carpet and now has a scratch the size of a pin head on the side.

It's been blooded. It's a man thing.

Second time the whole notebook OS froze (probably just sheer terror as it was squealing as it fell.)

Seems the drop sensor kicked in and retracted/parked the heads and needed a power reset to fixed it. No tears, still all happy. :D

20 months and still going strong.

So now that you know that it is well built, it should be safe to use your M11x to smack whoever knocked it over in the first place, right? :)

Nothing remotely close to you guys, but just earlier this morning I grabbed my laptop and turned on my bed and the back of it near the hing smacked into the corner of my night stand. Nothing terribly hard that would break it or anything, but enough to stop and go "Damn it did I really just do that it better be okay" and surprisingly there was not one ding or scratch or hint of a bang.
