I know my video drivers had to be updated and, I did that, but who received their laptop last week and knows which drivers at the Dell web site are newer than the ones on the computers sent out in the last week (I assume they are all the same).
OR, what's an easy fast way to check the versions on your laptop rather than go through device manager one at a time to check?
My specs are in my signature.

I would update the bios and make sure the intel HD graphics are up to date, as well as the 1520 wireless card

Graphics are mainly the drivers that need updating, and there have been different reports of problems with the 1520 wireless. From bad signals (maybe not even driver related), freezing during large transfers, unable to connect sometimes, etc.

oh yeah new command center too since it improved battery life in a more recent version. You might have the old one

Make sure you update the gfx drivers. I heard if you don't update them; certain programs won't run effectively.

Can't you put in your service tag and have Dell's website tell you which updates you need?

it'll just link your laptop model and show you what drivers work on your machine, regardless of specs

When I put my service tag it still shows me the WWAN driver listed when I don't have that feature. It just listed every driver that pertains to any specs on an M11xR2

Yea same, when I put in my service tag; some of the components are not even part of my laptop.

of course it lists all the drivers for your model! it doesnt know how your machine is spec'd out... to assume it would is kind of retarded...

What do you guys mean by improved battery life on new command center? I don't use command center (instead I use Windows power options for such settings) , does that mean I'm getting less battery life than I'm supposed to?

There was something going on in the previous version of CC, probably some setting in AlienFusion or FX, that was causing the system to use more power. The newer version simply fixed whatever the problem was. If you aren't running CC then there's no need to install it.

Did the BIOS update, OSD update and the Synaptics update along with video drivers.
First time I've ever seen an actual tangible benefit from a BIOS update...the FN volume keys now appear to work. ;)
Will be checking the wireless drivers on my M11xR2 to see if they need updating.
The rest I may just steer clear of since I may do more harm than good.
