I am not a gamer, but wanted a small, powerful laptop and the $250 off made it a good deal (I hope). Mainly use for coach, travel, some photo and video editing.

Bought the M11x R1. Upgraded to 320GB hardrive and 4GB of RAM.

    Let's see:
    - Small, powerful laptop
    - Coach travel
    - Good deal
    - Photo and video editing.

It sounds like you bought exactly the right laptop. Plan to do any gaming?

Thanks - I may do some gaming. Haven't in a while since I have been using a netbook, but like strategy games like Civilization.

The Alienware M11x will do decently well at running Civilization 5.

In general, you can run just about any game and have it run well on the Alienware M11x. The fact that Alienware got all of that gaming power into a small portable laptop is what makes that laptop unique.

Owning an Alienware M11x and not using it to play games would be a shame... it would be like buying a Ferrari, only to drive it to the grocery store :p

Good choice for a very portable laptop.

I just cancelled my order and bought the same thing (250GB hard drive instead of 320GB, but has the 4GB of RAM) from the Dell Outlet for $499. I figured I can change out the hard drive if I run out of space (use external as back up - I had a hard drive fail once so I make sure my important items are duplicated, but that is a different story).

I couldn't see spending the extra $200 for the same thing - even more excited although this is the first "refurbished" computer I have ever purchased.

most refurbs are still good, look great, and even offer the same 1year warranty

hell of a deal, assuming SU7300?

Yup, SU7300. 4GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive. Having the warranty made me go for it. Couldn't see spending the $200 more just to get brand new and 70GB more space.
