its freaking amazing. I have a perfect machine in terms of build quality. No creaks, no gaps, spacebar is perfect and overclock works without BSOD. I also would like to address a few concerns i had before purchasing the computer.
    1. Small Screen Size
I used my 2.66 C2D 15 inch macbook pro all year and loved the screen size. It took me a few minutes to get used to the screen size. Also Alienware put in a decent panel in the laptop. Its not as bright as my pro but the colors are very sharp. Overall the screens a joy to use
    2. Small Keyboard
The keyboard is indeed small and it took me about a day to get used to it. Theres no flex and all keys work well
    3. touchpad
After installing new synaptic drivers the trackpad is one of the best pc trackpads i have used. The multitouch gestures work very well.
    4. Build Quality
Amazing quality, no creaking, no flex
    5. Potential to be a primary machine
I have used the machine for three days and have not touched my pro. Its fast, opens up programs very quickly and handles games very well. I see no reason why i wouldnt use this as my primary machine and keep my mac just for editing.

So for those of you undecided on buying the m11, i definately recomend purchasing it, its a fantastic machine and truly in a class of its own.

Hello fellow mac convert (or side-vert if your keeping both :)). I am so excited to get mine within the next couple weeks. Finally a PC with good build quality and performance, and attention to design to and form factor. I was going through game collection and literally the only two I won't be able to max are FarCry 2 and GTA4. That being said 38/40 games I own running maxed would be heaven. I too want to keep my mac for final cut pro, but hey its not like there are not other alternatives on windows (albeit not as standardized or clean as FCE). I guess it all depends on how I like the m11x when I actually spend some time with it.

It took me a while but I got use to the 10 inch screen on my asus netbook. Now I can comfortably switch between my 17 inch m17x and my netbook screen.

Still need practice typing on that keyboard.

Thanks for sharing your experience. :)

I ran around like a small child screaming with joy myself when I saw the AlienBox. :) Ok not that melodramatic, but it was still a cool day...

I'm telling you, his 335 has magic powers. Your endeavor to beat his OC is futile. :)

I actually sold my m11x because of the reasons that TS is talking about.

    1. Small Screen Size
Well for gaming and movie and such it is OK. But when working on documents and even at browsing the internet, I think the small size is actually quit annoying. Although everything fits as it would like 15 inch, the problem is that especially with texts the fonts size is getting too small :( I have to sit a bit closer to screen but then I have to reposition my arms a bit which is not very comfortable..

    2. Small Keyboard
It is not hard to get used to it but eventually a 15 inch keyboard just types a lot more comfortable and I don't have to squeeze my arms. Again, for gaming it is OK but not really comfortable for doing documenting..also the keys are position quite close to eachother but it has a good touch.

    3. touchpad
    no problem with touchpad

    4. Build Quality
Yes the build quality is very good. But the hinges are really a problem they seem to be quite weak, so in the end I still used it very carefully which is very annoying if you drag around and stuff. Right now I have a very study laptop I don't mind to used it a bit rough cause I know the hinges are strong enough.

    5. Potential to be a primary machine
Actually I think it is not, it is not very comfortable to work with especially for long hours. Also the palmrest tends to get warm/hot. The weak hinges design makes you worry everytime you open and close the lid. R1 is not fast enough as an allround machine, you tend to worry about speed and try to close every window and such..windows must be optimized..some settings has to be turned off etc..
But it's very fast nonetheless, it's light, mobile, and small.

Right now I'm very happy with my new HP 15 inch laptop. I don't recommend the m11x if you game occasionally and do more documenting (like writing papers and such).

I'm loving this, too. I only wish the hinge problem didn't make the machine feel like a "ticking hinge bomb" every time I open the lid or look at the gap on the left hinge on my two-week old system. I'm even fairly content with the decent display, enough that I don't want to go back into the panel lotto with a lid replacement if my hinge breaks (and it seems like it inevitably will soon).

He obviously hasn't tried playing Guild Wars, WoW, Starcraft II, or pretty much any of the games that have the freezing issue.

Yes, I like my M11x, but as it stands it is unable to play a lot of games due to a problem with the drivers that is causing it to freeze randomly.

SC2, WoW freeze easily with high shader overclocks. I can play fine with 570 linked and 930 memory on any other game except SC2 and WoW which require me to drop the shader down to 1280mhz.

If the Vaio Z had a 335m, I'd be all over it, but the 310gpu is just not enough. 335m is barely enough for me.

I am also in love with this thing, minus the issues.

Last night I played Darksiders for two hours and DC Online for hours with no issues.

    I really do love it.
