Is this mod possible?

I don’t have my m11x yet but just been looking at photo's etc and had an idea.

Are the keys separately lit? If so it would be nice if you could for example have your keyboard backlight Blue but have the buttons such as W,A,S,D in a different colour e.g. Red so you can find them quickly in the dark.

Could this work with some software?

 

I do think this mod is possible, but i really see no need for this since the keys are so clearly lit it is easy to find any key that you don't already know by muscle memory.

No, the keys are all lit as one, on the m11x.

You *could* put a colored film filter in the WASD keys to they are always a different color (save the color you chose - that should appear as dark in that situation).

 

How about games getting access to the alienfx? What if your health is running low on say Diablo 2, the keyboard lights go red? Or your base is being attacked in starcraft 2, and then the keyboard flashes green? Just an interesting idea.

Diablo 2 should be fine.

 

This is already possible. The settings can be set AlienFX events for variety of applications. The example is Windows Mail in AlirnFX advenched settings. But join a game and AlienFX will be at least difficult.

That is a smart idea, but I guess it doesn't work on many applications. Would be very cool though!!

 

There's a short list of games out there that have incorporated AlienFX lighting into the game.

 

Incidentally, when I play Cities XL 2011, my backlight just goes crazy.
