    It's the symbol for the currency in the uk, which is known as a 'pound.' :)

    I'm sure he was joking, didn't know conversion to that currency. That seems like a lot, but then again, I live in USA and not sure what the normal cost is for the R1 in UK. Just for comparison you can get an R1 with SU7300, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD for $599 normally. £569.99 ~ $940US. Config here with those same components at your Amazon link = $739US ~ £450.

    Dell Outlet has a refurb for $509. M11x R1, of course. Not necessarily good for someone outside USA.
