I just seen couple days ago that qvc has the m11x on there easy pay payments which would be 3 payments of 319$ which totals out at 959.96, Ya i know i can get it cheaper but i usely like to pay payments on stuff which wont pretty much take my whole pay lol

I would prefer the r2 but they ony have r1 but i also herd the r1s are better on battery life? Battery life is very important to me because i don't like too take the charger with me were ever i go.

I was going too just buy a battery for my asus 1201n which has a 6cell now that gets like 3hours and 30min rarely and i saw that they have a 9cell battery which probably will net me around 4 too 5hours.

Just hard too say... I do like the m11x which i always wanted too buy one but couldn't pay all out for one at the time.

AND Dell has zero-interest financing options available for 12 months usually... so you would have even smaller payments than QVC...

and they also offer financing up to $3000 i believe (although it comes with a high apr)...if you absolutly must finance though you should just custom build your own on dell.com

and I just got a m11x r1 4gb ram...I overclock the gpu and the cpu and im thrilled with the performance, it has run every game I own (which is alot) at medium to high settings without much problem...great machine IMO

Yes, the r1 is still worth getting. But not at that price. If you can wait, why not just save however much your qvc payment is every month until you've saved the full purchase price? You can get a pretty nice r2 for that same money.

Ya cant order with dell the application failed 2 times for no reason... Would love too do it with them sense i payments would be under 100$.. But they wont let me do financing..

With qvc and hsn they don't do any of that credit bull and lets you select it at check out and they just take the payments right out.

Also ain't the r2 battery life lower than the r1s? I herd the r1 gets really great battery life 8hours and the r2 gets like 5hours too 6hours.

Might just save up the money than and get the battery for my 1201n for now.

    edit

Also i just configured the same specs that the r1 has from qvc on dell and the price came around 774.6$ so around 180$ cheaper but too afford that i would have too save around 3months or around 2 months and wait , And if i get it from qvc i can get it right now for around 319$ which probably will be close to 350$ with shipping and will get it this week likely.

I wish i could just do the payments from dell but ya it wont go threw...

Im pretty much not the one that likes too wait hehe :)

i would never pay $1000 for a R1. but on recomending the R1.... i cam from a 1201n myself, there isnt even a compairson... not even in the slightest. id say the 1201n and the R1 get the same battery life with the nvidia gfx on. with gfx off the R1 gets more than 5hrs. i normally get 6.5 to 7.5hrs just surffing around the web.

when it comes to gaming the R1 is so much faster than the 1201n its not even funny. now mind you my 1201n was OCed @ 2.1ghz with 4gb of ram (basically the fastest it gets) and my R1 was still crushing the 1201n even @ the stock 1.6ghz with 2gb of RAM.

imo the 1201n was a waste of my time considering i paid $500 for it and only paid $200 more for the R1.

portability is about the same. the R1 feels about twice as heavy and thicker but the foot print is basically the same. i was able to use the same mini cooling pad i used with my 1201n but i stopped cuz the R1 never gets hot.

the ports layout is slightly better on the R1 but pretty much the same. the screen is the same quallity. the keyboard is not only better its the best ive ever used, web cam and mic are tabout the same... but the speakers on the R1 are the best ive heard on a laptop under 17"

The R1 is VERY worth getting.

Mine is a refurb. I combined a 15% off coupon in the Dell Outlet store and got mine for $450 with free shipping. ($476 after tax).

I may have the base model, but I LOVE it, and I didn't feel guilty about spending a bunch of money. I think eventually I'll spring for a 13 or 14 inch if one comes up, but for now this is perfect for everything I wanted. :)

Check dell outlet! If you don't have a bunch of money to burn, it is the absolute best way to get an alienware at rock bottom price combined with the right coupons.

P.S., I'm a Pre-Legal rep for a bank and part of my job is credit card collections on accounts we're about to serve with judgements and garnish. I wouldn't recommend getting credit on something like this unless you plan to pay the full amount back before the 0% interest expires and you know you'll have the money. If you miss a single payment or at the end of the period you still have a balance, all that interest from those months you weren't paying gets tagged on at once.

    +1

The R1 is very worth the price these days. I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and I found nothing this small, with these benchmarks, for so cheap. Consider an AMD Fusion notebook (HP DM1z or Lenovo x120e) was the closest competition in size and price for me. Those are great laptops, but this is just in another league as far as features and function. Don't plan on crushing the latest games with the R1, but still a great gamer for the price.

He is correct. I have a computer I paid $600 for two years ago with an E8400 c2d 3.0ghz (overclocked to 3.61ghz).

I recently updated the graphics card to a gtx 460 ($280, the fancy brand), and bought a 23" LD 1080p screen for it. Just the card and screen cost $600!

I get a solid 60 on everything with max settings because the card is really safely overclockable, so I was worried about having to play on "LOW" with an m11x r1.

I was surprise to see I'm able to play around on some medium and other settings with the m11x, even though I probably won't game on it that often because my desktop computer performs so well.

I was even able to plug my m11x r1 into my 42" LCD and run Hulu @ 1080p without it even getting so much as warm.

For as cheap as they are, this is an absolute beast of a laptop and a great buy. Excellent performance, great value.

Yep i do need a gaming mobile laptop :) I didn't mention it because i thought everyone will know im using it for gaming and web browsing and videos which i need it too be good on battery life too.

if my g50vt in my sig got better battery iife i would just be using that but max i can get on it is little over 3hours and gaming its around 1hour which isint enough for me, Because me and my parents have our own cleaning job which we clean 2 buildings and it usely takes around 5 to 7hours and i get done before them and have like 2 too 3 hours just siting around well i do use my galaxy tab and my Motorola atrx too watch videos and browse the net but i would like too catch up on some gaming because i hardy have any time too do so at home.

And the 1201n its a decent netbook but in gaming it can slow down alot and the battery life also aint that great for a netbook which i get 3hours and sometimes 3 and 30min and around 2 too 30min gaming. im sure i can get over 4 too 5 on the 9cell but it does still lack the power i want for games.

Ya i forgot all about the dell outlet just checked now and lowest price is 529 with no coupons and comes out around 579 with tax which isn't bad but the specs are on the low side which is the lowest cpu option of the c2d and 160gb 5400rpms hdd and 2gb of ram which i would be ok with if it had 320gb 7200rpms and 4gb of ram, Than theres the 609$ with the highest c2d with 4gb but ony comes with 160gb 5400rpms and comes around 650 with tax. Would be nice if there was coupons for like 100$ too 200$ off cause i can pretty much bust out around 450 and 500$

But looks like if i want a m11x now i will have too get it from qvc because dell is a no go for me because they wont give me any credit i guess because i still have couple cards that aint fully payed off yet but my credit is good. And i have never miss a payment on anything.

And for the r2 while i would love too get the i7 cpu option but i also want the more battery life i can get which the r1 seems too get more battery life, And it seems like for gaming there isint much of a difference and pretty much all i be doing is web browseing and gaming and videos.

For gaming, don't expect far above an hour on battery. I squeezed about 2:20 out of mine the other night but it was on its last breath when I realized this.

Hmm i was hoping for at least 3hours or 4hours of gaming... From what i herd the r1 does 3hours too 4hours when gaming which also depends on the game.

But if i could ony get 1hour or 2hours than not sure if this laptop is for me than.. Sense my asus g50vt i could squeeze almost 2hours which also depends on the game and pretty much its more powerful than the m11x both versions, It does have a 9cell battery but still.

Might still order it from qvc than if i don't like it for the battery life i can always return it in 30days full refund.

Pretty much the ony place i could get it right now with out waiting months too get it.

Once again, I got mine for only $450 from Dell Outlet (refurbished). I clicked "buy" Tuesday night/Wednesday morning and had it on Friday... with the free shipping option. Less than three days for rock bottom price.

Yep saw you say that before but i just looked on dell outlet and the lowest price i seen is 530$ which comes out around 580$ with tax..

If i saw one for under 500 than it would've been snap up by me hehe but sadly there isint one there today for under 500$

What i can do is buy it from qvc and in the 30days if i see one in outlet for under 500 i can always buy it than send this one back.

with any "gaming" laptop your not going to get good battery life gaming couse it uses a lot of power. even 3 hours on the m11x r1 is amazing.

what does your r1 get when gaming?

Maybe try calling dell. They always seem to have more outlet units then they list on the website. You can also haggle over the phone, and if the person you're speaking to won't give you a deal, try again with someone else. They might also be willing to work out a partial credit deal. You come up with $x and finance the rest.

It seems dumb to pay twice the market value just because qvc will give you something right now especially when you have 2 other comps even if they aren't ideal.

Yeah, seriously, even some of the retail outlets have them for better prices. Heck, even buying off eBay might be better, but seriously, I would just call Dell, haggle the price down (they are obviously moving the R1 out of stock) and do a Dell Preferred Account - they will even give you like $50.00 for doing it, bringing the price for a NEW one down to like 549 USD, and there might be coupons on top of that.

Dell will tell you why you wern't approved for financing... theres always a reason... if you apply they mail you it. Do you have any other form of credit? try the student loan option they have?

Don't really have much dept. everything gets paid on time just have couple cards that needs fully paid off.

And dell did send a letter in the mail and they said about i have couple cards that needs payed off, And than they said i already had a account with them and i never did.. But my dad did which has the same name even tho we have different social numbers and i put jr on the end of my name so not sure whats going on there..

But anyways i pulled a trigger on a r2 i7 250gb 7400rpms 8gb of ram pretty much loaded spec wise on outlet for 819$ shipped They had a coupon for 100$ off for outlet laptops heres the code if anyone would like too use it D19CRN0H9HLJF9 its good too the 18th or when it gets used 5000 times, Parents was nice enough too lend me a extra 500$ till i get payed next month too pay them back.

Seems like a good deal sense brand new it will cost over 1k when i configured it with the same specs. And i was going too pay 959 for the r1 which i got the r2 for cheaper... lol thanks for everyone tried too get me out of that bad deal :) I just thought it was a good deal because payments..

I was looking at the r1 which had the 7300 160gb 5400rpms 4gb of ram which was ony 545$ with the coupon but i figure if i want this laptop too last me for awhile i should just get the new one with the i7 they had i5s but they was pretty much the same price so just got the i7.

Battery life is probably going too be lower than the r1 but from what i herd on gaming there's not much difference between the 2, And at one place were i sit and wait for everyone too get done cleaning at the job a plug sits right next too me so i guess i can find a place for the ac adapter too take with me and just run it on ac at that place and run it on battery at the other one.

Now the waiting game and hopefully i get it with no problems..

Have to give you +rep for the coupon and for forcing me to check back with the outlet. I was able to get an i7 M11x R2 with a 320 GB HDD for $50 less than the i5/250 GB one I bought last week. Just have to call Dell back with my order number to arrange a return for the i5 machine.

You have to get the one for $530 when it is available, and use whatever coupon is floating around.

Ends today. Dell Outlet is taking 15% off any refurbished laptop with coupon code KJJ6L74SCT4JLW. Outlet shipping is free on any refurbished outlet computer
    .

If that is expired, check out the $100 off coupon someone mentioned earlier.

OK, order for the new (well, refurbished but you get the idea) i7 R2 is in process, and I just received the shipping label to return the i5 machine. I'm amazed at just how easy it's been to work with Dell on this stuff. Absolutely zero hassle.

Yep i always had great support with dell with my old dell 9300, they even sent me a new lcd for it and let me install it on my own :) every other companys wants you too shipped the laptop back to them for anything thats wrong with it.

Hopefully i will have just as great support from them when i need it for this laptop.
