I have these laying around NIB and was wondering if anyone used these in their M11X? Found a R1 with no drive or memory for cheap and was thinking of picking it up to OC. Not sure how great this ram is for OCing on the R1. Forum searched.

the r1 has a bios option to OC from 1.3 to 1.6 and thats it. THe only other way to Overclock the r1 is a pinmod.

Thank you. :) Ive read every page of the pinmod thread and 200 pages back of the M11X subforum. Im not sure if the R1 Im looking at will be a ICS9LPRS365BGLF or a SLG8SP556V.

Im just asking if anyone uses this ram or drive in their R1s as I have some laying around. I didnt see this ram being used in a lot the OCd R1s so just curious.

Well a SSD is obviously totally awesome, I love mine! The Intel and Samsung SSD's are probobly the most reliable on the market so no worries about it dying in a month. As for the RAM I have no idea, I have heard good things about Corsair but I use 8gb of PNY memory and it works fine. For finding the ICS or SLG there is a post near the beginning in the pinmod thread talking about how to find it. Alternatively, You can open it up to the motherboard and have a look, its printed right on the chip itself.

I have only intel SSD's in my alienwares, the 320 is currently powering my M17 R2, it's real good, no issues up till now, the M11 has the older postville 160G, that's also very good and reliable. no worries, this SSD was bought march 2010. its still running and the intel SSD toolbox gives everything 100%...
