Hi everyone I am new here,

I bought my M11x back in April in UK, so I didn't get the chance to get the WWAN pre-installed let alone the antenna within the LCD. I been through the hinge change and replacement process too and well I am still really happy with my laptop - especially as they shipped my new LCD to Egypt while on a contract there! (took 2 weeks but thats still amazing for me).

Anyway, I hate using dongles, they get damaged and they are just annoying! I really want to install this internal antenna and then follow the instructions I have found fiddling around with the actual WWAN and drivers. But I cannot find anyone who has a HOW TO in installing the internal antenna in the LCD. Anyone know how to do it, or a thread already explaining how?

I don't really want to use the internal WIFI, especially if it compromises my WIFI's ability and as I travel alot to places where the reception is not always great, I would like to get the best method for putting an antenna (I believe thats the LCD route). So your help would be really appreciated.

Or is it better to sell this M11x and buy a new one from USA with the antenna pre-installed? I really dont want to go through that hassle and plus I lose money on my second hand M11x...

    Thanks in advance...

I've never taken my m11x apart. However, I used to take apart dells for a living. It's a relatively simple matter of removing the bezel from the back cover. (You may need to remove the entire lcd assembly to do this) Then snaking the wires from the wan card through the chassis, through the hinge, and along the outside of the actual lcd.

Your best bet is to find a disassembly video.

All the disassembly videos I have seen are of the laptop base not the LCD screen. I am quite used to opening up laptops been doing it since I had my old inspiron 9400. But I ain't come across one for the M11x display LCD and so a little wary of it......
