    Hey all,

I didnt see any welcome post or sticky so sorry if its a good few pages back. Anyways iv ordered an Alienware M11x R2 (i7 640UM - GT335M - 4GB @ 800 MHz 500GB@7200rpm HDD) and should have it next week. Been reading over the forums for over 2 weeks now and only registered today. I love finding communities like this and it seems there is alot of stuff here, so kudos to all.

Im sure ill be here asking alot of new questions etc but ill try keep them to the threads that are already in place. Ill probably firstly be looking to upgrade the ram and then maybe to a SSD so appreciate if anyone to point me to a post / thread with details or reccomendations on what parts to pick.

    Thanks

    Mark

I would also like to welcome you and give you some tips. If your a junkie for over clocking and know a bit about computers look up Unclewebb's program Throttlestop. It is one of the most powerful programs you can use for the iCore series processors (Including the one you are getting) and at times can increase their performance by up to 50%. Its absolutely necessary to get the best out of your m11x.

That is, if you are a gamer or over clocker. You might not find as much stock in it if you are using the m11x to travel with.

Great choice in laptops, and if you have any questions at all feel free to ask. Our collective knowledge of the m11x is far too much for our own good.

Cheers for the warm welcome guys. I tend to build my own desktops so i have some good experience but i dont often like to meddle with overclocking etc as im a firm believer in if it aint broke dont fix it. I have an i7-920 on my desktop i might look in to that software for this aswell.

Thanks again and ill be sure to check that thread out thanks!

    Hey there!

Good community, pretty small group of regulars for the most part.

Decent amount of knowledge floating around here for upgrades / performance / solutions to problems, etc.

Enjoy the new toy! I love my m11x.
