First, I'd like to say how much I love my M11x R3. That said, I just downloaded msi afterburner since my lappy felt very hot after Mass Effect session. The temperature 1-minute post game was 50/51C. I'm assuming it was a bit hotter when the game was running. Anyways, what's a normal gaming temperature and what's the maximum temperature the computer can handle before it suffers damage?

I have the R1 and mine is at 43C surfing the web. The maximum for mine is 105C. The R3 should be similar so nothing to worry about. When gaming temps of 75C upwards are OK. Download Core Temp and it should show your maximum (Tj. max).

I would use HWMonitor as it's more accurate methinks. Any temps over 85c will decrease longevity of the computer by a few years.

My M11x R1 ran at 65c maximum on the CPU and about 63C on the GPU

Technically anything under ~95c won't cause immediate damage but temps that high will not keep your laptop running for more than a year.
