Leave it to Steven to bring us the first HomeFront info on the 11x! Can you post which NV driver you are running on the 11x?

I have to ask - is the title worth it? Any issues? I was going to pre-purchase via Steam and completely forgot it was in my shopping cart. Really wanted that bandana for the Heavy.

If you're asking Steven, he jumped ship and now has an M15x.

For others, as Batboy said,

Model: M11xR1 or M11xR2
Nvidia Driver: 2xx.xx

 

It uses the Unreal Engine, right? It should run pretty well, unless it's some Xbox port like Black Ops.

 

I think he still has his 11x doc. Reason for his posting and tip on in-game settings. I was just curious which driver his 11x is running so others with the same driver can mimic his settings and give it a go.

if it's on unreal then it should run nicely like mass effect 2

Not unreal engine. Doesn't it use a new called 'Drama Engine' based off a engine from PS2?

im super excited for this game, hoping its very well optimized and will run well on the r1!

 

playing with settings but as of now..not playable on my mx11R2 i5...runs like im playing in slow motion...also.cant keep mouse pointer still keep swaying.....tried everything on low still no go....sucks!!! havent oclocked my gpu yet its def not a cpu problem...was only running at 68% max....hopefully we can figure the right setting but think the gpu cant hang...back to black ops

 

Hopefully this is an optimizing bug that can later be patched, it doesnt seem like a demanding game...but iv got an SU7300 so if you I5 guys cant play it i don't think i could haha, oh well thats what i have a 360 for.

 

I just loaded it up on my m11xR2, i7, 8gb RAM, stock drivers and it's unplayable. Turned everything off/very low and it's still like slow motion.

I haven't tried anything else yet because I am too pissed off that the game runs on checkpoints rather than allowing you to save. Maybe I'll try again later.

think i know the problem...wont run on gpu only on intergrted...added to whitelist and wont boot gives me a error code

Well, i have the exact same prob, do you think droping down to an older driver would work?

 

Question-if im on the R1, you guys think i will be able to run it ok? since i dont have Optimus i dont think there will be a problem there.

edit CGengine
ctrl-f (to find)
D3D (enter)
AllowD3D10=FALSE (change this from TRUE to FALSE)

Also within the nvidia control panel.. make darn sure that render frames ahead is set to ZERO! not 1 or 2 but ZERO.

Well, I went in and manually whitelisted Homefront and it runs fine now. I am going to go in and see if I can bump up the graphics later. I am running 257.30 drivers, which I think are the original ones the system shipped with. So it looks like the error code is from something else.

yeah, sorry, iv been so hyper about this because i have been lacking any new games lately and iv given up on bad company 2, i just refuse to play at 21 FPS....haha

Steven-if your referring to BFBC2, yep, i tried almost anything that had been suggested on these forums, but still its on the brink of unplayable.

If your suffering to Homefront, im just an observer at this point : )

No.. I posted that you have to change the homefront config file!!!! It tries to force DX11 and you have to change it to 9

C:\Users\admin\Documents\My Games\HOMEFRONT\GCGame\Config\GCengine

Search for D3D change from TRUE to FALSE.

I haven't tried the config. Once I whitelisted the game it ran perfectly.

I still have the settings all on very low, but am going to push them up this weekend, gotta work now

this game plays really funny on my system. says im getting 20-40fps but feels like 10... very choppy and studdering.

 

Ok got it working, but im only getting like 20fps- on very low settings. is this right?

Yep, if you can hit that little icon between the green one and the red triangle that would be appreciated. (Not that it really matters...but)

alien admin are you talking multiplayer or single? i cant seem to get better then 20fps in multiplayer, and im on all very low settings too. It seems wrong as i can play Bad company 2 at 40 - 60 fps.

I'm running the same M11xR2 setup as you, whats your overclock at?

Whats everybody getting for Fps and what settings?

 

the file isn't in program files/steam/steamapps/common/ it's in my documents/my games/homefront.

i exited and then restarted the game and the error came back, looks like it doesn't stay changed: not sure if it's because of the cloud saving thing or not.

EDIT: I disabled the steam cloud support thing and it hasn't changed the configs.

 

Did the same for me. I went in again re-configured, saved it and now it works fine.

This game is just pure sadness. At the start you see a baby's mother get killed RIGHT in front of the kid. Damn, I feel like nocliping out of the bus and pwning some Korean bad guys. Hey, Steven, how much FPS do you get on the M11X R1? Always counting on you to bring the good news

someone tried making setting the file to read-only but said that still caused the rewrite or overwrite (which should not be possible).

edit: oh, the steam cloud noticed a conflict between the files on my m11x and on the cloud system and it gave me the option to upload my files from the m11x or download them from the cloud. so naturally i clicked on the upload my files to the cloud option and see if that works out

I got it running quite smoothly on 720p. On Low Setting w/o anything turned on, the average is between 30 and 35 FPS.

On Medium with 2x A-Filter I get an average of 28 FPS.

This is for SP, haven't tried MP yet.

M11x R1
CPU @ 1,6, 263.08 GPU Driver, no GPU OC.

The only non-game setting I modified, was to set the render ahead frame limit to 0.
