After one day and a half I called Dell tech, technician came.

Not only he replaced hinge part, he installed new LCD screen.

Just out of curiosity, why does Dell also replace LCD screen?

It comes as a package. Whenever you replace anything attached to the LCD it comes as a whole.

Because the whole thing is one part that is more or less glued together.

Because the hinges themselves were never the problem. We as a forum really confused the crap out of people by not making this clear enough. The failed part is the plastic the hinges mount to

It's not even that, it's because the hinges are too tight from the beginning. Causing the plastic mounts to fail.

Nope. Hinge tension was (is) all over the map. Some still haven't failed others failed when "loose". If all it was was tension there would have only been a slight change in assembly steps for production rather than a redesign.

You can follow this in the forum history. It is a long read though.

Well on my wifes M11x r1 the plastic wasnt the weak part of the the design my hinge totaly snapped into 2 pieces. So it could be problems on both ends. The plastic and the hindge.

Many laptops use this plastic mount method, it's normally ok but with the high tension on the hinges it was highlighted as the weak point. Fact is, if the hinges were less tense under normal use would not of caused the issues.

The new design just changes the hinges, the mounts are the same.

The mounts are not the same and they were what was changed in the new LCD assembly. Hinge tension was never the problem. As GNandGS mentioned it's been well documented here.

Please stop spreading misinformation. I don't know where you get the idea that the hinge is the same.

The mounts are different. I even posted a link to pictures of the new mount in the hinge thread where you already were spreading false rumors. (I'm guessing you haven't seen my reply yet)

The new hinge has a new metal bracket that sandwiches the old hinge
