Hey i recently installed service pack1 for windows 7 on my m11x and since then my computer is running much slower than normal, taking much longer to start up. So i did a system restore to before the service pack install. However this caused it to run even slower again so i undid the system restore. now my computer is still slower on startup than it was and i also get error messages when it starts saying alienfxcontroller has stopped working, dslauncher has stopped working and iastor has stopped working.
Im considering using the windows 7 cd that came with the laptop to get a clean install or else use the repair disc i created with alien respawn after i got the laptop.
Anyone any suggestions as to what i should do or any other solutions?
    Thanks

Clean install partition and all. I've seen to many messed up recovery partition installs , sometime the recovery partions are messed up right from the factory. if you want use this to put your install cd on a flash drive for a install it's from microsoft for systems with no optical drive. use isorecorder to make image the use program below to put it on a flashdrive it make the flash drive bootable it sees it like if you had a disc in a drive.

yeah.. you should format c: otherwise it will only overwrite your previous installation. Not clean at all :D

Oh and I presume I just leave the recovery partition alone?

me, I deleted it (it's eating 46,5 GB on my r2) right after confirming I can restore them using recovery media..

just a sidenote, the reason why I clean installed is exactly the same as yours. keep us posted of your result..

I deleted them right after confirming it can be restored from recovery media.. it annoyed me to have them (hey, it eat 45 gigs, with 4 gigs files..) FYI, the reason I clean installed was exactly the same as yours.
keep us posted of your result..
EDIT: oops, I double posted, sorry but it's nearly 2 am here.. got sloppy
