I got my M11x R1 about 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it so far. My only issue is that I got it with the 160 gb hdd, and my games on Steam take up a good amount of that space.

    1. What are the specs I need to check on the hdd to make sure it will be compatible? What are recommended hdd brands? I have always used Seagate and WD.

    2. Will I be able to reset my laptop to factory condition without an external disk drive? I have a 500gb external hdd I can move files to if need be.

    Thanks.

    1. i believe it's SATA only, and 2.5". seagate and WD are pretty decent, overall.

    2. get an 8 GB flash drive and use it to create recovery drive through datasafe.

Is datasafe included on all Alienware laptops? Would I be able to back it up to my 500 gb WD externall hdd, or is there a reason it has to be flash?
