I think the xps would give better performance in games because of the cpu
I use my r2 for college and find it perfect because I can carry it anywhere and still game
also I would by the ram and hard drive off newegg.com could save a few bucks - not sure if it would void the xps warranty but with the m11x you can swap parts out

You can swap xps parts without voiding the warranty. I agree with lock on the xps has a better cpu and higher screen res, but you will prob get higher fps on the m11x due to 768 res v 1080p.

It depends wether you want portability, altho both are small (m11x obviously smaller). But the xps is a LOT cheaper than alienware so its up to you what you want and what you want to spend.

Thank u, both of you, the price is not a proble cuz that m11x and xps 15 have the same price (5 bucks of difference)..

The R3 has the same hinge problem of the r2 and r1?

@LockOn u said that u have a m11x, how do you feel about the size? cuz my bro says that is stupid the relation between price-size of the m11x, I think that its great the m11x but, my big problem about these laptops is because the size of m11x, I've never seen a m11x, just in phtos and videso, so I really don't know if too small... Actually, I have a HP of 14', I don't know if I will feel the m11x too small... ty dudes!

Yeah, at this point, the real factor is size.

Does anyone know if the i7 is low voltage on the proposed m11x like the i5 for the r2 is? It's painful to know that our cpus could've been so much better.

    Get 3yrs warranty minimum.

If you decide to add it later on, it will cost you a lot more.

Whatever game you try the m11x (r3 with i7) should be able to beat the xps due to the lower screen res on the m11x.

But i dont know how much the cpu is a factor on the m11x so you could be right.

3 years of warranty is a waste. In at least 2 years you will want a newer PC and there will be much better PCs around. 3yrs is not recommended IMO and if you're a modder then get a 1 year warranty.

The XPS will be faster for just about everything. However, you may need to lower the resolution on some games to get decent performance. I would go for the XPS if the prices were the same.
