Spilled juice directly on the keyboard. The screen immediately went out, vintilyator hummed, I could not turn it off by holding down. Pulled the battery after 5 minutes. what to do? :(((( Can I try to include it without battery, hard drive and keyboard? DELL Service center in Ukraine does not: (((

I turned it on with no hard drive and battery, the keyboard works, I do not know whether all. When you exit the BIOS it shuts down. There is a squeak. Damn. I hate juice.

my sister dropped her laptop in a pool once. worked fine after 3 days of drying and wiping away the salt crystals.

I assume you purchased the accidental warranty from dell? :) If not, you might still be covered under any contents/house insurance you have. You should contact your insurer.

Glory to the big bang. The laptop works after blow-drying. However nekotyre keys started "stick" (slow work) is it possible to clean the keyboard as a module?

You say water in your Topic, but juice is tricky. Your keyboard will never be the same. I would go on ebay and buy a new one to replace it. I would think that someone would ship to the Ukraine.

I would remove the keyboard and clean with Scrubbing Bubbles then rince and blow dry with a hair dryer.

I have seen youtube videos of people cleaning there motherboard etc submerging in the sink with scrubbing bubbles soaking for 5 mins and bringing out to rince then hair dryer it.

I have cleaned many electronic parts with Scrubbing Bubbles.

If it was my M11xR2, I would disassemble, inspect, and clean.

I would spray.. wait 5 seconds.. and rince. ( IF I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY )

You guys might want to give this a try if you ever get liquid on your electronic devices

    Or this

It's more or less the same but with some instructions, weird I know but it does work but then again I've never tested it on a M11X.
    Good luck!

Thank you all. I plan to pull out the keyboard module and dip it in the bath with alcohol. What do you think white film does not come off? Do not hurt the lights? Of course I did well dried before use.

Contact cleaner has worked well for me in removing most residue. Not sure if its better than other methods though.

My E1705 was damaged by a water spill and after cleaning and drying for days I had 1 dead mem slot - lucky! Worked! Noticed though that after than I couldnt keep the USB ports clean and overall I think less stable (odd lockup once in a while). I think the system was compromised in spite of the cleaning and after a few months it failed following a small innocent bump on desk.

Because I had to spend a LOT on the M11x earlier than I would have otherwise I have become a big fan of kb covers.

I once spilled Pepto-Bismol in an old IBM PS/2 keyboard, with the heavy, loud mechanical keys. I still have it and it still works on any system with the old keyboard input. (sigh) They just don't make 'em like they used to...

It also works great when playing Doom or Commander Keen under Dos v.6

Being from southern USA, i like my iced tea sweet. One day the tea left my glass, and ended up all over my Acer Aspire laptop. The first thing that i did, was to seep up the tea with a paper towel, shake it out a few times, vacuumed it out, and voila! it worked! the next morning however, i noticed a very thick trail of ants crawling up my desk leg, and into my computer via the keyboard and fan... other than that, i had a few sticky keys, a stain on my desk, and a semi-working computer that i am typing on today, 2 years later.
