So I was playing minecraft today. After 35 minutes in I got some huge graphical lag. I looked at throttle stop temps and the high was 85. Now I know the processor speed didn't drop. But msi showed gpu throttling because of the heat. So would I be best to re-paste some thermal or would removing dust be okay? OR BOTH? hahaha just your guys opinion. I am sure its just dust. but I don't know what the best way to dust it out is. Haven't really looked into it.

If its that severe you'll have to open it up, remove the fan cover and take the huge dust bunny out. re-paste wouldn't hurt

In the mean time blow the fan out with some compressed air.

mine never gets above 70c. even working the chips pretty hard. It sounds like there is a problem with your cooling system someplace. Dust in the fan, bad thermal paste, or possible some other issue. If the system is still under warranty contact DELL. Otherwise you can try cleaning the dust out, or replacing the thermal paste.

    IMPORTANT NOTE!
If you use compressed air to clean out dust make sure you hold the fan still while you do it! Compressed air can spin the fan blades so fast that it will destroy the bearings and ruin your fan.
