So i am running my second monitor off an hdmi cable, which runs to an adapter to change it to a dvi-d signal, however every few minutes my display (hpw2207) flashses black, then back to desktop, does any on know what the problem is, am I better of going off getting a displayport to dvi or vga, I have never had an issue with this monitor, so I know it has something to do with the HDMI to VGA

dunno if it helps but when i used my displayport--> DVI, i never had a problem at all

I do have the adapter still and I don't use it anymore since my monitor has an HDMI input if you want a Lenovo adapter for cheap

Well, I cheaped out on my adapter, so its a $4.00 adapter, I wonder if the adapter is just a PO$, any way was it a passive adapter, or active

I've got a cheapo adapter that came with one of my ASUS motherboards. Use it every day without any problems at all.

I I ended up finding the issue, to much cable, and a cheap adapter, so to much signal loss, I am gonna go and try a straight hdmi to dvi cable

I bought a hdmi cable 10' on amazon a couple years ago for $.75 + 3.99 shipping, and it still works to this day, you might try that. I looked at it and you can still find some under a dollar.
