I was thinking of upgrading my 2 year old mx11 so i opened it to read what type of ram i should buy, off course the data is on the back, so without disconnecting the battery i took out one module and put it back in ( bad idea apparently ).
Now when i press start it just beeps in periods of 4 times !!!! Keyboard is lit, but nothing else is happening !!!
Can anyone tell me what to do or replace ?

    Regards Thomas

Thanks for info, but after trying a couple of times with no result i swapped the modules around and now it works !!!! Apparently when having a 1gb and a 2gb module it dosn't matter in which slot you put them!!
Now i will hurry down and buy 2 x 4gb so that it can't happen again!
Btw when i look at the corsair homepage, they claim the vengeance series ( 1600 mhz / 1866 mhz ) to " improve even on older versions of i5/i7 " but will they have any effect on a i7 640um like mine, or should i go with the standard 1333 mhz, the price diff is not much anyway ,,,

    Thanks in advance

1600mhz should have lower latency when running at 1333 (i have 1600 cl9 running at 1333 cl8). Although any benefit is negligible.

Might as well buy the faster RAM if possible, even if your current laptop can't use them, maybe later on down the road another laptop could, I don't think the price difference is massive between them.
