Hey guys, sorry if someone has posted this already. But I am having trouble when connecting my m11x to my HDTV. I can get dual display to work ie. my desktop being shown on both the laptop monitor and the tv, however when I try to just output through the tv, I get a black screen... I've tried fiddling with the nvidia settings but to no avail. Any suggestions would be great as I am hoping to purchase a keyboard and put the laptop below my desk when using it at home.

    Thanks for reading!

If you get the HDMI output to another monitor/HDTV you've mostly done everything.

Press the 'Microsoft' key (next to the FN key) and the 'p' key.

Then select the output you require.

When you say HDTV I assume you're using HDMI and not the VGA -> PC port on the TV.
    Doh! Sorry, topic says HDMI...

You can actually have dual displays (two external monitors) by connecting one via DisplayPort and one via HDMI. That works too.

I have two 24" monitors connected to mine when at my desk.

    Thanks for the quick reply!
The problem is, I want to just display my desktop on the TV and leave the laptop closed. But when I press windows+p and select projector only, the display on the laptop goes blank (as it should) but nothing is displayed on the TV... I'm very confused.

Sounds like you've extended the display.
On mobile phone so can't check, but what does right click on desktop and Screen resolution tell you.
You may be able to see something there.

Thanks for the help but unfortunately still no luck... I can't change the resolution for the TV output because the screen just goes black when I select it as the primary....

Not sure if this'll help or not but this is what my config. looks like on an M11x-R1 when connected to a Sony HD-Ready TV.

I'm using the latest nVidia beta drivers from Dell.

My HDMI/HDTV connection worked fine on the original drivers too.

Hey guys, thanks for all the advice! Travelling at the moment so haven't been able to test anything yet, although I did try connecting to my friends TV and it worked straight away... so I'm completely lost. Will try again when I get home.
