I was watching my first blu-ray movie last night on my R2, it played well for the first 5 minutes and then it began to lag horribly...

I switched my battery option to High Performance and that worked a treat, does switching to High Performance kick start the GT335m?

Also my LCD TV is a 32" 720p HD READY, can anyone tell me which will give me the better picture quality, using either HDMI or DISPLAY PORT (i am currently using HDMI). The Video quality is great but not that great!

How can i get my M11x R2 to produce the best video quality...?

    Please guys help me out.

I suppose the only way to find out is by getting hold of a DP cable and testing it myself....

If you are reading this and you have already tried/tested please drop me a line!

It really depends on your TV settings.

My TV has horrible oversharpening which cannot be disabled when I use HDMI, so I am forced to use VGA (not M11x R2) which looks alright but not perfect.

Just make sure that you can get a 1:1 pixel setting on your TV regardless of HDMI or Display Port which are both digital and should have the same picture quality by itself.

Also, on the M11x R2, Optimus only works on the main monitor so if you want to watch a movie on your TV make sure it is the main or only screen enabled.

To check the pixels mapping on your TV, in the MP4 (.exe) or MP4 (.7z) from here, try use Section-C.mp4 in full screen (1920x1080).

Haven't viewed anything via blu-ray, but...

Have used HDMI and DisplayPort on a 24" IPS monitor viewing the Avatar DVD(720p). Looks the same on DisplayPort and HDMI.

I have two 24" IPS monitors side by side and the M11xR1 can play two DVDs at the same time so I could play one on DisplayPort and the other on HDMI and observe both at the same time, side by side.

Even the VGA port connected to a HD LCDTV looks OK viewing the Avatar DVD. Audio has to be handled separately.

A lot depends on what you're using to view a given movie, VLC, PowerDVD, KMPlayer, Windows Media, etc.

If you're at home, just use AC power, which you'd have with all power options max'd out.

When you unplug the power it should then fail over to your DC power profile.
