Anyone tried any versions of the M11x on GW2 yet? I pre-purchased and can't wait to try it this Friday but was wondering if I can run it on "high" settings, no shadows or at least medium-high.
Who else pre-purchased? =D

I was going to get on this too but it would destroy my life
You might want to post in the gaming section there is a huge post on GW2. I am sure it will run but you might have to be reasonable on the settings.

It ran great (medium settings-ish) on the m11x in my signature in 1080p on an external monitor, and that was on a much earlier build (I'm sure there have been a lot of improvements to the engine since then).

Yeah I have access to beta, will post results once I get it downloaded
-
Will also contribute results tomorrow.
Also it's noted by ANet GW2 is much more CPU intensive than GPU reliant which worries me as I have a Core i5.
Hoping to have at least semi-good looking textures in WvW. -
For some weird reason my R2 ran really ty with the Diablo 3 beta even though I can play games like SC2 well. Let's hope it does well with GW2 :S.

Those in beta post how their system is coping with the game?
M11x R3 in particular, thanks. -
Hmm, not very happy with the performance. Everything at low and it was not good. Low FPS overall, will try with TurboBoost ON tomorrow and GPU overclock
-
Using the R3 I didn't measure FPS but with depth on depth only, medium reflection rest on high with NO shadows and hi res texture ticked it ran okay when there wasn't too many people nearby. In town I would have to go with no reflection or AA and no depth/hi res and it would run fine. Then when there's about 1000 people on the same flame legion shaman it became a semi-slideshow. I'm quite happy with the performance so far, can probably pvp on lowest settings like this and when they further optimize the game it'll be quite nice.
Not sure how people are having lots of issues with some higher spec PCs running poorly. It's very CPU dependent as the GPU isn't even fully utilized on most systems for some reason. -
With all settings on lowest, resolution 1920x1080, I'm getting 30 fps while in open areas with little to no people, however, once I join an event with 40 or so other players I'm getting below 15 fps. Looking at cpu and gpu usage, they are both rarely getting above 60% though. So I'm not sure which is limiting me atm.

I'm getting about 30FPS on my M17x... so I shudder to think how it runs on the M11x in crowded areas. I'm very disappointed with the performance so far, and a little disappointed with the game in general... Places are too crowded and chaotic. Trying to hook up with my guild mates was a nightmare.... we're all stuck on different worlds, and every time we try to switch worlds it disconnects you.
and never mind the technical issues I have with the game... the voice acting and cutscenes are poorly done and awkward. I realize it's a beta... blah blah blah...
/soapbox -
Everything is either off or low with resolution 1680x1050, M11x R2. (Game still look pretty decent)
Cities, surprisingly very decent, it hovers around 20fps probably because the city is huge and it's not as crowded yet.
Heavy populated areas (starter area) are a slideshow, average is 5fps which is to be expected.
20-30 people during an event is around 10fps.
When i'm alone its around 20-30 fps. -
And your error with server transfers is to be expected, they are allowing absolutely everyone change server as many times as they wont so they can test the servers, so that at launch there won't be any problems. -
This could just be Nvidia drivers then because users of the 6990M are seeing great results myself included in beta. They will probably drop an update at release and fix all the problems.
I am hoping my 540M GT can run it at least at the moment it gets around 20-30fps so if that is the same as your 580M GTX that has to be game or driver related and it will be fixed. -
this is another SWTOR in terms of optimization.
they claim they "will fix it". it'll never come
not buying this game. uses 1 core and is cpu-bottlenecked -
If your not, have a look at their first title guildwars, during beta it was porely optimised (as are all betas really) and imo its one of the best optimised games I've played.
Also, does not use 1 core, both mine have been around 70%.
