Decked out and standing at just under $1400 on my checkout at Dell...

It seems like I'm getting a bit of buyer's remorse, and I haven't even bought it yet.

Here's the deal... I'm deploying soon, and am allowed to bring a laptop. I usually game with my desktop, which will max everything I throw at it. Now, I require portability, but still want the gaming experience that I have been spoiled with and accustomed to. I see that the m11x is the perfect one right now, but I need some motivation to click on checkout.

Am I making the wrong choice?... Perhaps I am wrong in asking on this forum, but in my heart I feel I am making the right choice, that's why I would like a bit biased, but honest opinions.

One thing I would like to add, how would this play Mass Effect 3? Are there any problems? And one last question, How quickly does Dell take to build and ship, 'till it gets to my door? If I were to purchase today, and living in Austin, Texas, how quick would you guys estimate it would take to get here? Given I choose the free 7 day shipping?

    I appreciate all the answers.

Nope you are making the right choice we were all in the same boat myself included. As long as you are not going to lose your job anytime soon and it will not mean you are borrowing more than you can pay back there is no other reason for you not to click buy. I said exactly the same thing as you a few weeks ago. See my first post and my review. I am now sitting in front of my tv playing World of Tanks at high settings at 50-60fps :)

Mass Effect 3 runs maxed out native resolution at 30-40fps. I am also playing Skyrim which runs at high with AA + AF and still pushes 30-40fps. Stock Clocks.

It is all about the resolution and as it runs at 1366x768 it can handle the settings. The I processors are pro and add your own SSD and you have everything you need to run anything in your backpack.

All the others questions you have are answered in my review, from purchase to receipt it only took mine 6 days coming from China.

i dont regret buying mine in any way, it has its little " flaws " and it may not run some games at full blast ( i got an r2 ) but for its size, and what it can do, i love it to bits, i use mine at work , and i play eve online, batman AC , Assasins creed revelations, Just cause 2 , Skyrim , shogun total war,

and i never fail to appreciate how much something so small can do.

i tried the ME3 demo and it ran fine at 30-40 fps, though yours may be even better.

i cant rember how long mine took to ship since its been over a year and a half now,

Save your cart on your account and jump online/on the phone and get a rep to put through the order, you can easily squeeze a free next business-day shipping from them at the very least, also get them to search for coupon codes maybe cut another $50 off. I'm assuming you need it ordered soon, otherwise i'd say to wait for some deals/specials and you could pick that up for easily $1,000 or less.

Also note that the i5 and i7 are both dual-cores with HT and are VERY similar (i7 is 100MHz faster, i5 has faster internal GPU), so it's up to you if the ever so slight performance increase (~2%) from i5 to i7 is worth the extra $200. Don't fall for their SSD/RAM upgrade gimmicks either, expect to be paying 500-5000% RRP markup. Get the bare minimum RAM & HDD and swap them with your own (decent RAM and an SSD) when you get it. No it will not void the warranty.

CALL THEM dont do the chat!! Get them to at least give u 25% off i just ordered mine and got about that much on mine google coupons for m11x too cause i just used one it expires the 8th i think it was for 100$

Also i am buying a new one cuz i just got back from a deployment and afghan didnt treat my old m11x well.. if your going to the sandbox bring a can of air to air it once n a while cause i found it overheating w all that dust not to mention its hot as hell already out there so the system will run hot anyways and depending how often u travel id suggest accidental insurance!! Since your military USAA is the cheapest personal property insurance which id what i did and they are paying for my r3 :)-

Good luck either way! Btw m11x kicks for deployments everyone will envy u lol

Wow, will gladly go and read your reviews!

Also, it seems my expectations seems to be higher than I thought, and, how would I be able to "squeeze" more out of these guys? I don't have a golden tongue... Would asking nicely help?

And yes, I need it quick, at least within the next 15 days, so I can't afford any screw ups.

Anyway, I'm ready to purchase, going to call a representative as stated above.

They want your money and their employee's need their sales to make it, dont act like you need an Alienware just make out you are in the market for a laptop and need it quickly and if they dont want to sell you one you will happily go down the store a pick up a netbook.

They make zounds off the hardware and are on the verge of a refresh so stock must go. Good luck with your purchase you wont regret.

Call several reps and cross compare their offers.

Tip - Both the i5 and i7 are dual-cores and very similar.
Get the i5 unless you plan on plugging your m11x to two monitors simultaneously.

They want a sale. Tell them that you NEED to have it within 2 weeks and hence you want them to give you an upgrade to NBD delivery, and you have found similar laptops for a little less with better specs, so you want to know if they can reduce the price.

I'm not sure if that dude actually got 25% off just by talking to a rep, but i spoke to 5 different ones and none of them could give me anything more than $50. I had other coupon codes i was using anyway, but they couldn't go any higher than that.

the trick is to get a US representative and not one from Mexico or South america or something, but your calls get diverted automatically so it's simply luck of the draw.

Oh and BTW if you NEED it within 15 days, do not get the 7 day shipping, it can take up to 10 days to "build" and then deployment + shipping can take up to a week. Best to be safe with NBD and they usually give it for free (i've got it twice by barely mentioning it).

I had the same fears, but this laptop played just about everything I threw at it on max settings, 1366x768. You will not regret it.

I really appreciate all the help and motivation guys! Thanks for letting me know to talk to a representative too. The customer service was wonderful, patient, and they got me what I needed, and within my time frame as well.

I'm so excited right now, and a bit impatient... Gah it's killing me!

I have a question though, it irks me a bit. I have a confirmation code and everything with my purchase, but there doesn't seem to be a status when I am on my account.. When I log out, and use the manual method of locating my order status, it's there. Perhaps it just takes some time to update?
