Hello all, I am a brand new owner of an M11X R1 and I had an issue with every time that the computer starts up at the login screen the LCD would go black and come back.

Upon research I found out that I needed to update the drivers for the GT 335M. I go to Dell with the service tag and downloaded the driver. I switched the computer to 'performance' mode and then proceeded to install the drivers.

The screen went black for about 10mins and I did a hard restart. Upon rebooting the computer was in 1024x768 and the display drivers were unknown in the device manager.

So I directed the drivers to be installed where dell left the nvidia driver and the driver was updated and rebooted for a second time.

Now the login screen is perfect no issues but now the GT 335M is not even showing up as a device now, just the intel intergrated graphics and the F6 hotkey no longer works as well.

    Please help.

Note: I have also downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia and it cant find the hardware anymore.

I had this happen once on my R2 though I was not able to switch between them of course. Boot to safe mode and uninstall the intel Drivers so that it is forced to look for another display device, that fixed it for me though I had a different cause.

Give it a shot and let me know what happens.

I resolved the problem by installing the A00 drivers from dell then upgraded those to A01 update and it works perfectly now

    I thought that was normal.

E.g. If you shutdown your computer with the Intel GPU selected there will be no flash. If you shutdown your computer with the nVIDIA GPU, the computer still starts with the Intel GPU but then switches to the nVIDIA GPU when Windows starts causing a black screen.

After doing the A00-> A01, is the black screen gone regardless of which GPU you shutdown the computer in?

Glad it was solved. I think the difference between A00 and A01 just made transition smoother?

I do not have an R1 so I cannot test that for sure but I am glad the problem was fixed.
