I just played left 4 dead and after 15 minutes I felt the computer was hot so I checked the temperature and it was about 75C. Am wondering what the problem might be.

R2's run hot my friend. I don't think there is anything we can do about it.

Hell, it's even hot when I leave it idle for few hours lol.

Yep, average GPU temp under load in the R1 is 55-60deg.. 70+ seems the norm in the R2.

I get below 70C with a notebook cooler at load, i will have to test more hardcore games like crysis. I have yet to do so. ( so far tested BCF2 (( single player)) and MOH beta with full game which i think is 24 players)

u know what ill go run Furmark...

was gonna ask OP if he was R1 or R2. Max temp I ever got on the R1 GPU is 64C, achieved by playing DAO for two hours and doing a OCCT GPU temp burn test. No external cooler

    nope...

back on topic: I think your gpu is fine.

i got max of 69C on my gpu while playing bcf2 at med sets. I think i played for 30min.

I also have to mention, i am in an AC'ed room. so i guess the gpu is fine.

this is without my cooler. I also use this notebook cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834997730&Tpk=coolermaster u2 i think this is really good because u can move the fans to position it where u want under the m11x

was just trying the crysis demo on all high/dx10 and it ran at around 70c(72 high) with nothing overclocked cpu/gpu wise. I am in a scorching hot room(probably around 85 degrees with a fan on) though and I was just trying it out since i havent really tried anything that demanded great specs yet.

highest i ever got was with running furmark , 66C with CPU Oc'd (R1), plus GPU OC'd 580/1392/900 , also reached same temps playing borderlands with cpu+gpu oc. GPU OC helps a lot, but dynamic shadows still give a noticeable fps drop/.

How are you guys getting such high numbers? I play WoW on it for 5-6 hours non-stop and my max temp is like only 54C.

Because the R2 GPU runs at 10C+ over the R1.

Played Crysis for 2hrs and the highest temp my GPU reached was 60C - R1.
