Just a quick question for anyone that knows. I think it happens when i turn off my computer it resets my overclock from evga precision to stock. Is this just something i have to deal with? Also i have set my core clock to 502. Is this a safe OC? Will it take much more battery having my cpu and gpu OC?

    Thanks

@Rev - reset on shutdown is normal. Just add evga precision to your taskbar for quick starts when needed. My gaming oc was 550/850 sometimes I would kick it up to 550/890. But not usually needed. Each computer is different so you have to go up slowly and stress test.

Overclocking the gpu will eat more battery. When you have the R1 and set it to oc in bios it actually runs at a lower voltage so it uses less juice than non-oc (go figure)

For the R2 it does utilize more battery when you increase the FSB.

    Good Luck,

    StevenX

Thanks for the quick response as usual!

I actually just did a little test and I OC the GPU to 500 again with EVGA P, I then switched back to the intel GPU for about 15min. Turned on the 335m again and went into EVGA P and GPU-Z and they both now say 450...

@Rev - that sounds correct. Remember it is a software overclock. Just like using setFSB for motherboards. It resets on shutdown and in this case when you switch to intel it "shuts" the nvidia down.

If you just add the evga to the taskbar it only takes a couple of seconds to hit the clocks and then play your favorite pixel perfect game.

    Take care, StevenX

Alright, I dont think I remember seeing any posts of what to shoot for for GPU temp with this one. I did a log and at 500 clock speed I got up to 60 degrees C

60 is pretty low. I think I hit 67 at highest but can't remember. It's not only heat that limits your oc ability but the gpu memory (speed and quality).
