So, I went through Mardon's list here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-near-1ghz-overclock-my-i5-gpu-overclock.html

I have stably overclocked both the CPU to 160 mhz (highest it will go).

Right now my clocks are at 560/1360/936

However, my voltage seems to cap at .85 volts and in-game the gpu maxes at 100% use but the evga precision tool says the gpu is operating at much lower clock speeds than I set them to, such as maxed out at 350/900/700 ish.

Now is this normal? Or is there something wrong the way I have it set up?

I am relatively new to overclocking, so forgive any ignorance ;)

You're overheating and the GPU is throttling. Reboot and back down the GPU OC.

really? The temp never gets above 74 c which from what I have read seems to be very tolerable for m11x r2

are you on battery? make sure the GPU is set to maximum performance on A/C and battery if you wish.

You may have crashed the nvidia driver and it will clock down to 2D clocks. Just reboot and they will reset. Also check in the Alienware program that the Nvidia GPU is set to full performance.

Did you try the modded Bios or Thaiphoon? You can probably push both the CPU and GPU further if you use these apps as well.

Resetting did not help, still trottled down even though temperature barely reached 65 celcius. I think I have eliminated the problem though. I have disabled powermizer and now the gpu is not throttling and operating and full overclock without crashing. monitoring the temps, my gpu has not past 75 celcius and the cpu past 65 celcius. Looks stable I think.

Sounds good to me. Keep pushing each one up little by little until you can't get any further since your temps are looking good.

Some games dont like OC's (Like Crysis 2) and other love them (Like the Witcher 2).
