On some videogames, when launching into fullscreen it gets to the black screen where it loads the game and blinks into windows and gets back to the black screen then minimizes the game and goes back to windows.

    What's wrong?

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes too. Click the icon on the bar and then rapidly click the screen, it should get you back into the program.

I had this happen on some older games like Knights of the Old Republic. I usually have better results with the 335 card switched on (I have an R1.) Also, when some "bink" file movie scenes play, I'll get a windowed screen rather than full. Seems to happen if I Alt+Tab back to windows at all while the game is running.

Another option you have is to mod the .inf file for the game, I had the same thing happen to me on COD:BO and it wouldn't bring up the video no matter what I did to it(audio played but no video), finally I had to go into the .inf file and mod it to open in windowed mode then switch it to full screen once in the game.
