    Free, pre-installed portal? Not on a refurb

    Title says it all. My cousin was telling me how awesome Portal (1) was, and I thought I'd give it a try, since it was free and stuff. But it's not free on the refurbished m11x.

    Just throwing this out there so someone else can let me feel dumb for them.

    The first portal is $10, and will be around $3-5 the next time Steam has a sale. Not really much of a reason to buy or not buy a laptop.

    Sorry, gone now. I've got a new M11x R3, but I've pulled the HDD already. Anyone know where the code's meant to be?

    I didn't see any code on my R1. I just had the option to download Portal 1 when I started the preinstalled version of Steam.

    there is no code: it auto unlocks once you log into steam!

    Yeah thats what happened for me. Just logged onto steam on my new m11x and portal was there ready to download...
